Russia’s AvtoVAZ introduces 4-day workweek as market declines
SAMARA, Oct 17 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ has partially reintroduced a four-day workweek on its facilities because of a continuing decline of the car market, a spokesman for the company told PRIME on Monday.
“AvtoVAZ has again shifted to a four-day workweek. The B0 platform assembling Lada Largus, XRay and the Renault-Nissan class cars still works under a five-day schedule. The facility producing Lada Vesta in Izhevsk will also work five days a week,” the spokesman said.
The previous time AvtoVAZ set a four-day workweek was on February 15, 2016 to avoid staff cuts. The plant returned to a five-day workweek after corporate vacations on August 15.
